Radiance Discovery: Skinfood's Egg White Pore Mask
Eight days until autumn but let’s be real, I can already feel the fall in the air! Fall is my favorite season because it’s not as humid but it’s also not cold yet. Since the weather is tamer, I try and really focus on my pores when it comes to skincare.
Masks have always been a huge part of my skincare, and I usually am an avid user of sheet masks because they’re easy to use and all I have to do is peel it off and throw it away. However, I’ve recently fallen in love with Skinfood’s Egg White Pore Mask.
I found this cleanser roaming around Ulta about 4 months ago, looking for new skincare products to try. When I saw “pore mask,” I was instantly intrigued. This pore-refining mask comes in a cute white and yellow tub and the product itself is a white clay-like formula with a light fresh fragrance.
After cleansing, you apply it all over your face (avoiding the eyes and mouth) and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. I take my time with it because I use my fingertips to massage it in while applying. Once the time is up, rinse or wipe it off with a wet cloth. With any mask, it’s always crucial to be gentle when removing.
Skinfood is a South Korean brand that really focuses on using actual food ingredients for their products (grapes, black sugar, apples, honey, egg whites, and more). They use eco-friendly and sustainable growing methods for their ingredients and focus more on lasting beauty and not short immediate results.
There are more and more skincare products involving egg whites because eggs have a strong dose of protein. In addition to the high level of protein, the albumen in eggs is also a natural anti-inflammatory which helps eliminate pore-clogging impurities, tightens pores, and helps control excess oil. A bonus is also that there are anti-aging effects!
I have been using this mask about 2-3 times a week and I kid you not, from the first time I used it, my skin was evenly moisturized without being oily and I could see a difference in my pores. From Day 1! If you have acne or breakouts this mask won’t do much because there’s no salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. My breakouts are usually because I don’t do the best job removing my makeup but that’s my own fault (oops!). But, if you are like me and you struggle with uneven oiliness/skin tones and noticeable pores, then I highly recommend this mask! And even though I’m only in my 20’s, it’s never too early for anti-aging products!
