Radiance Discovery: Pretty Sure I’m Gorgeous by Anese

Radiance Discovery: Pretty Sure I’m Gorgeous by Anese

It's the last day of August, everyone! Can’t believe September is already here, are you all ready for autumn?

Fall is actually my favorite season. Not only because of the orange-red leaves and the transitional pieces I love to wear, but also because this is usually the time of year when my dry cheeks are less irritable and inflamed, and my oily t-zone area isn’t shiny all the time. By no means, however, does that say I can be lazy with my skincare routine the next few months.

One of the steps I would never skip is using a mask. It’s just a matter of the type of masks I would use. Sheet masks will still be used regularly, but instead of a clay mask, I’m switching to a more hydrating gel or cream mask. Last year, I used Glossier’s Moisturizing Moon Mask and I loved it. This year, I decided to give Pretty Sure I’m Gorgeous by Anese a try.

I picked this mask because of some key works I came across in the description: “ultra-hydrating,” “reduces the appearance of large pores,” and “removes impurities from your skin.” And okay, maybe also because it has an adorable name.

The mask comes in a light cream form.

The product itself isn’t exactly “pretty;” the cream comes in an ugly gray color. But hey, you can’t judge a book by its cover, am I right?

I’ve been using the mask twice, sometimes three times, a week since July 31. I would use it after double-cleansing, leave it on for 15 minutes, and rinse everything off. The final step is simply to apply a moisturizer. I see online that some people use a brush to apply the mask, but I actually just use my fingertips! When I was in Europe the past week, I also brought it with me to use before bedtime.

The mask is able to clarify and remove dirt from your skin thanks to one key ingredient: activated charcoal (hence the color)! Meanwhile, hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil together hydrate the skin. Other ingredients include organic Rooibos, which is high in antioxidants, and spirulina, which detoxes the skin.

For US$22 per 60ml, I think the mask is very well-priced!

Although I haven’t seen any real pore-shrinking action yet, the mask really cleaned my skin. Even the nurse at Skin Laundry who treats me regularly commented on my clearer skin! Plus, I usually get small spots here and there on my forehead when I travel, but I didn’t get any this time. I also felt that my cheeks stayed hydrated overnight when I use it before bedtime; it really provided my cheeks with the needed soothing effect.

To sum it up: I love how my skin looks and feels after every use! I highly recommend this product to those with combination skin! I don’t really think it’ll be suitable for dry skin types, but it definitely suits acne-prone and oily skin. The price point is fair so I don’t feel bad using it several times a week.
