Interview: A Peek into Actress Roz Pho’s Beauty Life
Since January this year, we started a series of interviews featuring amazing individuals from around the world. Everyone lives in a different city, works in different industries and is beautiful in their very own different way. The third interview is with Actress and TV Host Roz Pho.
Roz (@rozpho) works in the entertainment industry and lives in Singapore; her mom is from Hong Kong and her dad is Indonesian-Chinese. Roz has been in numerous feature films, TV dramas and commercials, and one can also often find her hosting events and television shows. During her spare time, she travels to amazing places around the world.
I met Roz when she was working in Taiwan. At first, I simply remembered her as the pretty, shy girl who didn’t talk much (but is fluent in at least 5 languages, by the way). Overtime, I came to learn how full of energy she really is. She is so passionate about acting and is someone who is willing to challenge herself to achieve more and do better. Despite the hurdles she had to cross and the hardship she experienced in the process, her unchanged enthusiasm for what she does is an inspiration. What I love the most about her though, is her optimism and humbleness, which to me is what makes her beautiful.
For someone who needs to put on makeup for a long time, sleep at odd hours and travel frequently, Roz’ skin is in great condition. Read on to find out what she uses!
A Chat with Roz
Pores and blackheads.
Your No.1, most important beauty product?
Oils! Because of my work, I use makeup almost every day and removing it properly is important. I use coconut oil or Shu Uemura's cleansing oil to remove my makeup. I also like to use oils as a moisturizer before going to bed because sleeping in an air-conditioned room can really dry out your skin. I use coconut oil, almond oil or organic facial oils rich in vitamin E.
One product you must travel with?
Sunblock! Sometimes when I'm on a beach holiday, I see no point in using moisturizers because they're only going to get washed off when I jump into the water, but sunblock is an absolute must! I sometimes apply it on 4 to 5 times a day (or after every jump in the water) and I love Japanese brands like Allie, which might feel sticky at first, but after a couple of minutes, your skin feels protected and moisturized.
Your favorite beauty brand?
There are a few I like, but I currently like Laneige. Their products look great, feel great and smell great. I really like their sleeping mask. I also really like their sister brand Sulwhasoo's latest BB cushion, which I use on my casual days when I’m not working.
Product introduced by Key To Radiance that you want to try?
Oh my goodness. How do I choose?! Maybe the SU:M37 cleansing stick because I've never used a cleansing stick before. But I've always been a sucker for masks, so ANY mask!
I like to scrub my face with kitchen salt. I wet my face (the salt doesn't stick if you don't do this) and then I gently massage the salt all over. It'll dissolve a little in the water but still good enough to get all the grime off. Somehow my skin feels more balanced, firmer and brighter! I also like to make my own DIY masks with a concoction of plain yogurt, honey and a squeeze of lemon.
Thank you, Roz!
