Current Winter Favorites: Moisturizing Hand creams
One thing I started using since I was young, before I was even allowed to put makeup on, was: hand cream! I've used several dozens of different brands and products throughout the years, and came across so many hand creams I stopped using after the first, two tries. Because they were either too oily, too watery, have a pungent smell, or simply don't do what they're designed to do, which is usually just to moisturize!
Below I have three hand creams that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a good, reliable product that smells wonderful, protects your hands and provide the hydration you dry skin needs in the winter.
I'm sure you've seen or heard about this hand cream by L'Occitane at some point. It's been on several "Top Hand Creams" lists an was named Best Hand Cream by Allure Magazine in 2013. I have been using this for over 10 years now, and there is always one lying around somewhere in my apartment.
I sometimes use it all over my arms and legs, too, because I love the consistency, texture, and smell. It has 20% Shea butter, honey and almond extract; the aromas are a blend of jasmine and ylang-ylang essences. The vitamin E found in the product is anti-oxidizing and helps nourishes the skin. Apparently, even gardeners love this product!
The first Bastide hand cream I've ever used was a gift from my cousin. She knew I was a hand cream user, and got it for me when she visited Paris. This French brand is less known in the U.S., but it's been around for about 25 years in Provence.
I've been traveling with their hand creams because it comes in a perfect size (30ml). My favorite scent is the Lavender one; the smell is light and soothing, which is nice, especially when I'm on a plane. The nourishing formula includes olive oil from Provence (yum!), lavender extract and shea butter. What I love about this product is how quickly it gets absorbed into your skin without leaving any greasy residue (so I can continue playing with my phone soon after).
I recently learned about Brazilian beauty brand Natura Brasil and visited their store in New York. I tested out their hand cream and even got a nice mini hand massage with it on-site. I could easily say it was love at first "use" for me.
The balm provides intense moisturization. It softens and smooths my hands with the nourishing Castanha oil (from the Brazil nut found in the Amazon forests), and protects the skin with Murumuru Butter.
P.S. Tricia received the hand cream as a gift from Natural Brasil; Key To Radiance is not sponsored by or affiliated with any of the other brands and retailers.
