Product Review: Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet

Product Review: Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet

          Happy Monday!

The weather has been having a hard time making up its mind. Some days it would be 40 degrees in the morning, 70 in the late afternoon, and then cool down to around 50 at night. Because of all the crazy temperatures, my skin has been mad at me, and when there are outside factors affecting my skin, I like to make sure I do my best controlling the factors I can. One thing I have become better at is making sure my makeup is completely off before I sleep (or in worst case scenario: taking off my makeup as soon as I wake up, if my nap ends up being an actual night’s sleep).

In the past I have used a makeup wipe, cleansed my face, then used a toner for my final step. However, I have recently discovered the wonderful Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet. I have been using it every time I wear face makeup (about 3 to 4 times a week); I don’t use it on my eye makeup since my eyes are very sensitive.

The sherbet comes in a cute tub as a solid, kind of how coconut oil comes in a jar. Once you scoop the right amount out and spread it on your face, the sherbet melts down to a soft light oil. Do not be turned off that it is an oil because it’s not the kind where it feels greasy or runny. There is a tiny plastic scraper included with the product which I thoroughly appreciate. There is no scent and it is hydrating so it softens and smoothes your skin!

Why it has the word “grain” in the name is because 3 of the main ingredients are rice, rice bran, and soybeans which means that there are plenty of vitamins and natural antioxidants for the skin. The brand, Botanic Farm, focuses on protecting the environment, which is why they use natural ingredients and those ingredients are actually grown on their farms. Amazing!

The given instruction is to massage it into the skin and use a towel or cotton pad to wipe off. But I use it a little differently. I apply the sherbet to my face and massage it so the heat from my fingers melts the makeup off with the product. Then I use a makeup wipe for that extra step. The scientist in me wanted to test out how much of a difference the sherbet makes, so the first day I took half of my makeup off with just a wipe and used the cleanser with the wipe on the other half of my face. And there was definitely a difference!

I still use my other skincare items with this cleanser which includes a moisturizer, therefore I do not know the sole power of the cleanser in terms of how moisturizing it is, but I love that my face feels cleaner and less greasy since it truly melts away all of my makeup!

         Thank you for reading!
