Radiance Discovery: Got Milk?
A little over a month ago, I flew to Seoul, Korea for my best friend’s bachelorette party (still not sure why she wanted it to have it there…ha!), and things got out of hand. By that, I mean, shopping and wallet-wise, not the bride-to-be, thankfully (wipes sweat off forehead).
I got really excited when I found out that the lovely Maid of Honor, my friend’s sister, scheduled a “shopping day” for everyone. The day of, I visited countless beauty shops and one of them was 3ce.
Upon entering, my first impression of the brand was: energetic, fun and creative – very much matching the trend that many popular lifestyle brands in South Korea, such as eyewear brand Gentle Monster, are currently following. From packaging to product display, everything in the 3ce shop was well-designed. Although I was aware of the brand, I’ve never used their products before.
After a brief chat with a salesperson (who surprisingly spoke fluent Mandarin to me), I learnt about the power of milk! And, more specifically, about the White Milk series by 3ce. The collection features 4 main products: Pack To Form, Milk Cream, Sleeping Mask and With Milk Cushion. Based on my personal needs, I left the store with Milk Cream and Sleeping Mask in my shopping bag.
I only started using both products after my wedding (oh my, I’m a Mrs. now!) as I avoided including any new products into my normal beauty routine, in case my skin reacts poorly. So it has been about 20 days so far, of continuous, daily use. My preferred product out of the two is The White Milk Sleeping Mask, so I’m sharing a more in-depth review on it below:
3ce White Milk Sleeping Mask
We all know drinking milk is good for your health; it's a great source of calcium, it rehydrates the body, and improves vitamin intake. For someone like me who is slightly lactose intolerant, however, being able to utilize other benefits of milk’s nutrients in other ways feels pretty awesome!
This product, which features 50% milk protein extracts, is designed to get rid of dead skin and increase skin’s moisture level. Other key ingredients include tea tree (which provides the skin with an antibacterial effect), oatmeal (to strengthen the skin barrier), honey, and avocado (which supplies healthy nutrients).
Personally, I love this product for 4 main reasons:
- Double duty: It can be used as a daily moisturizer and an overnight sleeping mask. After my double cleansing routine, I would use my toner and serum of the day before spreading a thin layer across my entire face as a daily moisturizer. The cream is rich and moisturizing, and wakes up tired and stressed skin. As a mask, apply a thick, nearly-opaque white layer over face, and then leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes before going to bed, so the product can be fully absorbed. I started waking up with glowing, healthy-looking skin the following morning, only after trying it for 2, 3 nights! And in case you’d like to know, I’ve been using the product as a moisturizer 3 times a week and as a sleeping mask the rest of the time.
- Targets skin blemishes: I have some discoloration left behind due to blackheads and pimples, and the cream does a good job clearing my skin. My skin started appearing cleaner and brighter (without the oily-shine) after about 10 days of continuous use.
- Non-sticky texture: The cream, although thick, is not sticky at all, and spreads smoothly over my skin. It doesn’t damp and or leave a stain on my pillow case either, which is a big bonus!
- Easy makeup application: Every time I use the product as a sleeping mask, my skin becomes silkier and smoother the next day. And that makes makeup application much easier, too. So if there is a special event or a big date you’re going on, I highly suggest to use the product as a sleeping mask the night before!
Despite claiming to be an anti-wrinkle cream as well, I haven’t seen any results. However, it could be because I need to use it for a longer period of time. Another characteristic I would likely change, if I could, is the smell. The cream has a very, very sweet scent; sometimes I still feel like I’m actually spreading milk-flavored ice cream or condensed milk over my face. The smell almost stopped me from using the product at first, but now I just avoid applying any right under my nose.
